DOG training classes run by prison dog handlers are proposed if a dog exercise and agility area gets planning approval for land east of Oldhay Farm Bungalow, Altarnun.

Planning has been applied for which will include a car park for up to four cars and solar powered CCTV cameras for security.

A timber field shelter and seat will be put on the field for dog owners to shelter in poor weather. There will also be agility equipment including jumps and a canvas tunnel as well as a dog waste wheelie bin and dog washing facility. 1.8 metre high deer fencing will be erected with a metre high mesh screen around the bottom to obscure livestock from the dogs.

The applicants, Jamie White and Robert Dugard, are planning to provide puppy training classes and sessions offering training tips from prison service dog handlers. They want the area to be a safe enclosed space for nervous and unsocial dogs.

Customers will be able to book 50 minute timeslots via the website and no more than four dogs will be allowed in the area at any one time.
