CHILDREN at Lifton Community Academy are learning how to become mental health ambassadors.
Pupils in Year 6 have joined the ‘Normal Magic’ training programme, which will equip them with practical skills to promote mentally healthy living, learning, and loving within the school community.
The first session saw pupils explore the foundations of mentally healthy living, including self-regulation, self-soothing, and recognising when to seek help. They also tried out the ‘Daily 10’ and ‘Incredible 5’ strategies, simple tools designed to support mental wellbeing every day.
Adam Hill, headteacher at Lifton Community Academy, said: “It’s never too soon to start caring for your mental health, so it’s wonderful to see our pupils actively engaging with their wellbeing. The Normal Magic programme is fantastic.”
