The South Tetcott Hunt honoured three of their senior members with Life Presidents awards at their opening meet at Tetcott Manor last Saturday. Mervin Willis, John Stanbury and Dennis Piper have contributed a combined total of nearly 200 years' service to point to point horse racing with the hunt. Chairman, Bruce Newport, said: "These men have all shown extraordinary leadership, commitment and participation, these awards are well deserved. Unfortunately Dennis Piper was unable to collect his award, however, it was
accepted by Tina Drowne on his behalf. Hunt
followers including 40 riders cheered before leaving for one of the fastest opening meets for many years." The three men are well known in the area where they have lived all of their lives.
