SHEBBEAR and Buckland Filliegh flower show is to be cancelled this year, it has been confirmed.
The popular annual event is usually held in the Shebbear Village Hall, but it is presently out of use due to maintenance works taking place.
Organisers for the event have said that it is not an event that can easily be moved to another venue due to the amount of work that goes into it taking place.
As a result of the village hall closure and the health and safety concerns around that, it means that the event is cancelled for 2026, but will return next year.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: “It is with much sadness that the show this year has been cancelled - due to the Village Hall being out of use due to maintenance work and Health and Safety issues. This decision was not taken lightly, but we felt that it is better to inform everyone involved as early as possible.
“The event is not easily or practically moved to another venue as there is an incredible amount of work that goes into it's preparation. Thank you to everyone who had volunteered to help in any way. We hope to see you all next year for a fabulous show.”
