The annual play at Bradworthy School this year was a tribute to that most marvellous mutt, that courageous canine, that heroic hound ... Scooby-Doo! Indeed, in this classic cartoon caper Scooby and his pals sang and danced their way through three performances of a hilarious adventure with all the elements of Scooby Doo mysteries that are so familiar to us all. As well as Scooby himself portrayed brilliantly by Holly Brauns, there was of course his best friend Shaggy (Douglas Fenney), Dipsy Daphne (Chloe Skinner), fearless Fred (James Petherick) and the brains of the gang Velma played by Lois Barker. However, in this adaptation the Mystery Inc crew were joined on their crime busting adventure by the retro singing quartet the Scoobettes (Evie Parry, Erin Martyn, Chloe Baker and Emily Brookes) perched for the whole performance on top a life-sized replica of the gangs Mystery Inc van ! In this particular musical romp Scooby Doo and the gang were confronted with marauding mummies, phantom clowns, ghostly cowboys and spooky spectres as they attempted to get to the bottom of who was scaring visitors away from the Dooville Theme Park owned by dear Old Granny Doo (Molly James). In the end it was left to the audience to decide who was behind this dastardly crime. Was it mild mannered janitor (Stanley Hill), Doris the Cleaning Lady (Matthew Shadrick), Sheriff Wll Catchem (Dan Heard), Gypsy Rose Lee (Damara Carey), or the Dooville Bank Manager (Matthew Wilkie)? The audience were certainly treated to a feast of scintillating song and dance routines including the 'Dooville Dance', 'Scooby Snack Song', and of course the iconic Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you ?
