THREE residents of Burdon Grange Care Home, in Highampton, Hannah Lavell, Rebecca Hobbs and Angie Broad took part in the Power-Chair Football Festival held at the Riverside Centre, Exeter, on Sunday, September 29.

This event was held by the Wheelchair Football Association and was intended to recruit new players in to the sport.

The session ran from 10am until 3pm and saw the three ladies receive initial coaching from national players and association coaches, before they watched a demonstration match with Celtic Storm PFC, from Truro, taking on a team made up of coaches, other league players and Dai Carpenter from the Devon FA.

After lunch, the team from Burdon Grange were split up into one of four teams and then played in a round robin tournament of wheelchair football.
