A primary school has raised a huge sum thanks to a day of unforgettable fun.

Lewannick Primary School's Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) held a lively and successful ‘colour run’ to raise funds for the school, bringing together children, staff and families for a unique and colourful day of joy.

Students, and some very enthusiastic adults, put on their running shoes ready to embrace their inner Mo Farah. Participants took to the school field and began running laps — however, this wasn’t any normal cross country event.

Around the track stood a number of helpers ready to liven up the day, armed with bags of brightly coloured paint powder.

As runners made their way around the track they were showered with colour, resulting in a joyous sight. Laughter and excitement filled the air as everyone embraced the colourful chaos. The children had an amazing time, with smiles all around and spirits running high.

Having put in some hard work during their run, the PTFA added to the festivities by organising a well-stocked barbecue, serving up delicious food to keep everyone fuelled throughout the day.

With everyone playing their part, the event not only served as a brilliantly fun experience, it also raised an impressive sum for a good cause.

In total, the event raised a huge £1,400. The school has explained that these funds will be going towards supporting students’ development by providing enriching trips and experiences for the pupils.

A spokesperson for the school added: “The funds raised through this event will support the school's commitment to offering engaging and memorable learning opportunities beyond the classroom.”

The PTFA has also thanked everyone who took part or contributed and praised the strong community spirit that helped make the event such a success.
