ONCE again the Tetcott Hunt proudly brought its hounds into Holsworthy Square on Boxing Day prior to the day’s trail hunting.

Bringing the countryside to the town is widely appreciated, especially those who might otherwise not see it. For local people and visitors, young and old alike, this colourful spectacle brought great delight and pleasure as it has done over the many years.

Across the country hunts attracted around 250,000 supporters on Boxing Day and the Tetcott played its part, helped by the generous support of Jill and Ashley Tallon of the Kings Arms generously providing snacks and drinks.

The Square in Holsworthy on Boxing Day would never be the same without the Tetcott Hunt. The friendly hounds wandered among onlookers as though they were passing on the festive season’s greetings.

As soon as the master huntsman sounded the horns the hounds were at the ready as hunt staff led them out along Chapel Street for trail hunting in the open countryside.

Following the enjoyable meet in Holsworthy more of the same was anticipated when the hunt took to the streets of Stratton on New Year’s Day.
