PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Additional vehicles for operating site

AN application seeking permission to keep additional vehicles and trailers at an operating centre for an agricultural contractor near Camelford has been submitted to the traffic commissioner.

Mr Daniel Hirst, trading as Dan Hirst Agricultural Contractor of Kenclidenshire, Tresparrett Posts, Camelford, is seeking authorisation to amend his existing licence to keep an extra two goods vehicles and three trailers at his operating centre located at Pensilva Farm, Camelford, PL32 9SY.

Anyone wishing to make representations related to this application, particularly owners or occupiers of land or buildings near the operating centre and might be impacted are invited to send representations to both the applicant at their trading address and the traffic commissioner within 21 days of January 14, 2026.

Road closures

LAUNCESTON: High Street in Launceston will be subject to a one-day closure in February in order to enable overhead fibre cabling works to take place.

The closure will take place on February 12 between the times of 9.30am and 3.30pm with it being located between 4 High Street and the junction with Church Street.

BUDE: The road from County Road to Marine Drive in Upton, Bude will be closed for one day to enable telecoms work to take place.

The roads affected will be closed between the hours of 9am and 5pm on February 9.

LAUNCESTON: Dutson Road in Launceston will be subject to an overnight closure on February 5 to February 6 to enable new customer connection works to take place.

The stretch of road which will be closed between 7am and 6am covers Dutson Road between the junctions with Ridgegrove Lane and Prince Philip Road.

Alternative routes will be signed on the sites of all the affected closures.
