A person who became cut off by the tide was rescued by a water taxi.

The incident happened late in the evening of July 12, occurring at around 10.40pm.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard Padstow said: “Tasking to a person that was potentially cut off by the tide on a beach north of Padstow War Memorial.

“The Coastguard Rescue Vehicle (CRV) and individual Coastguard Rescue Officers (CRO’s) arrived on scene. They were then informed by the Ops room that the person had just been picked up by the water taxi and taken across to the Rock side of the estuary.

“No further assistance required, so the team was stood down with thanks.”
