A NATURAL burial ground based in Morwenstow has been named as one of the best natural burial ground across the whole of the South West.

Atlantic Rest Natural Burial has been awarded The People’s Awards Regional Winner by the The Association of Natural Burial Grounds. Winners are selected based on the feedback and experiences of families from around the UK who have buried loved ones at a natural burial site.

Scooping The People’s Awards Regional Winner for the second year in a row, judges highlighted the glowing feedback that praised Atlantic Rest Natural Burial for its peaceful location, outstanding customer service and the overall kindness of its staff.

The site at Atlantic Rest Natural Burial occupies three acres of peaceful Cornish countryside, with a sweeping wildflower meadow and adjacent woodland area.

When the site reaches capacity in the long-term future, it will become a woodland nature reserve to be enjoyed for generations to come, with families able to visit each year and observe the changing of seasons.

Sheridon Rosser, co-founder of Atlantic Rest Natural Burial, has called the award an ‘honour’ and has said the organisation prides itself on offering a ‘personal experience’ to every family.

She said: “It is always an honour when someone chooses to rest with us at Penlow Field.

“And the gratitude expressed to us for creating Atlantic Rest is always a surprise, but it affirms the fact that there is a growing desire to leave the world with the smallest carbon footprint possible.
