AS part of the requirements of the Big Lottery grant, Holsworthy Rural Community Transport has undergone a review of its organisation and activities, which was carried out by third parties.

As a result of that, policies and other documents have been compiled to ensure that the organisation is compliant with all the recent legislation.

The exercise also highlighted that the organisation needed to change its image and so rather than concentrating on the organisational title ‘Holsworthy Rural Community Transport’, it is now focused on what it does.

As the organisation provides door-to-door services picking people up, it seemed more appropriate to promote ‘pick me up’ for the three services they provide, namely ‘Ring & Ride’, ‘Cars for Care’ and ‘Here for Hire’.

Part of this exercise meant that new uniforms were necessary for the drivers and office staff.

This cost was not covered by the BL grant but district councillor David Hurley provided a large part of his ‘Councillor Grant’ money to help cover the cost, for which the trustees are extremely grateful.
