ON THE dot of one o'clock last Thursday Holsworthy's new post office at No 13 The Square opened its door, writes Christine Williams. The first two customers were John and Eileen Beer, of Langtree, who had come to pay their car tax. The new manager, Andrew Bailey, is assisted by staff from the former post office in Fore Street, who have moved across, and a post office trainer will be present to assist them during the first two weeks. The new branch is part of a three-year investment which will see about half the branches in the Post Office network converting to a new style. The modern, open plan premises have been completely refurbished and have improved accessibility. There are three serving positions and the same range of products. For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.

READY for action — the staff of Holsworthy’s new post office: Rosemary Howard, manager Andrew Bailey, trainer Geoff Edwards and Leah Freeburn.
