PUPILS from St Stephens Community Primary School have been praised for showing “impeccable manners and a positive team ethos” at the recent Launceston College Netball Festival, which one of the school’s teams won overall.
Staff were very proud of all the Year 5 and Year 6 pupils that represented the school in the recent netball tournament at Launceston College.
Headteacher Maura Furber said: “All the pupils were true ambassadors for Team St Stephens, displaying impeccable manners and a positive team ethos; key values in our school community.”
Some of the quotes from the children included “The most fun part was playing matches against other teams and I have learnt a lot about teamwork and how to be more involved”, “I really enjoyed the netball tournament as we had to overcome challenges the further we went in the tournament,” and finally, “I enjoyed the competition between the different schools and some people there were really friendly.”
There were eleven teams from primary schools in the local area and one of St Stephens’ teams won the tournament overall.
Ms Furber added: “A fantastic well done to all involved. We are very proud of their achievement and hope that there are many more opportunities in the future for inter-school events again.”
