THE Bude community has outdone itself to raise money for an important local cause following Lifeboat Day 2025.
Each year residents and visitors in North Cornwall come together for an exciting day of music, fun, games and fundraising. The occasion puts on a show across the town, all in an effort to raise money for the local lifeboat station.
During the event, there is plenty for visitors to get stuck into. The highlight for many is the annual duck race, hosted by the town’s Rotary Club, which returned again for 2025.
As well as this, visitors channelled their inner mastermind as they hoped to scoop first prize at the Falcon Head Hotel for the famous lifeboat quiz will.
Of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without some live music - this year hosted by a variety of groups including Celtic folk punk group Black Friday - and the ever-popular fireworks.
This year, the event proved as popular as ever, with the masses turning out for the good cause.
A spokesperson from the event said: “We were blessed by the weather and the fabulous support from everyone who contributed and attended. Please support, throughout the year, all those businesses that sponsored, donated and participated in Lifeboat Day 2025 – it is their support that makes the day possible!”
With so much support, thousands were raised.
The spokesperson contined: ”Whilst we have not yet been able to finalise the amount raised (there are one or two outstanding receipts/invoices), we are confident that the total raised for the RNLI is in excess of £19,500! This is an amazing result and provides vital funding to support the work of the RNLI and the volunteer crew here in Bude.
“Planning for 2026 starts almost immediately and we need more volunteers to join the organising crew. If you can offer any help, please email [email protected]”
