NOVEMBER saw Launceston Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) have had a range of events happening from a cheque presentation, annual Bonfire and Firework Night, Remembrance Day, Hatherleigh and Holsworthy Carnival and the County Indoor Sports Round.

Launceston YFC kicked off the month with their cheque presentation where they donated £1,000 to last year’s two chosen charities, POTS UK and Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Both charities were delighted with their donation and the club were very pleased to be donating to such amazing charities!

Launceston YFC then held their firework and bonfire night where members, friends and family gathered together around the bonfire to watch the firework display!

The evening was finished with hot dogs, cakes and other refreshments put on by members!

A club spokesperson said: “A great evening was had by all, a big thank you to everyone that came and supported us and a big thank you to the Scott family for hosting us!”

Members then gathered on Remembrance Sunday to parade around Launceston Town Centre, where the chairman and secretary laid their wreath on the War Memorial.

The morning was finished by members gathering at the White Horse for a carvery!

Two Saturdays of November consisted of carnivals!

First being Hatherleigh Carnival where everyone was very pleased to achieve second place, and later on in the month, they attended Holsworthy Carnival, lot of fun was had by all!

A club spokesperson said: “A big thank you goes to anyone that helped us with any of the carnivals!”

Towards the end of the month was the county indoor sports round at Bodmin College.

Members gathered together to take part in a range of sports against other clubs in the county.

This consisted of sports such as cricket, running, keep fit races, wheel barrow races and many more! Members had great fun with this and it really showed how Launceston YFC can work together as a team!”
