SOUTH West Water says it is working to restore water supplies to properties in Launceston following an overnight outage.
The organisation has thanked customers within the PL15 area for their patience as it continues to carry out repairs to a damaged water pipeline in the area.
A spokesperson for the water supplier explained: “We are pleased to confirm that the majority of supplies have now been restored. The network is currently refilling, and our team will continue to work on site to restore the remainder of supplies as soon as possible.
“If you are still experiencing an interruption to your water supply, we will provide an update to you as soon as possible. Thank you again for your patience, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
However, it is not just homes that have been impacted by the outage, Launceston College has stated that due to the issues, it will hold a delayed opening this morning.
A school spokesperson explained: “Currently the college has no water which presents multiple health and safety issues. We have therefore taken the decision to delay opening for students until 11am.
“We will provide updates at 9am and 10am regarding the delayed opening time. If this delayed opening causes issues around transport that means students cannot attend today, these absences will be authorised due to the exceptional circumstances.”
