A Post Office provision is set to return to Kilkhampton after the intervention of the area’s MP.

Bude Post Office has announced it will be providing a once-a-week drop in service at the Grenville Rooms in the village.

The service will operate between 9am and 11am every Tuesday to provide Kilkhampton with all post office services.

At present, it would appear the service is temporary, with a spokesperson for Bude Post Office saying that “footfall and customer sessions will factor into whether this becomes a permanent arrangement”.

Scott Mann, MP for North Cornwall, said it was one of his requests when he met with the Post Office during the 2023 Conservative Party Conference.

The head postmaster for Bude Post Office said: “I am delighted to announce that the Post Office to provide a service in Kilkhampton, open each Tuesday in the Grenville Rooms from 0900 to 1100 to provide Kilkhampton with all post office services.

“Please spread the word (through the community) as footfall and customer sessions will depend on whether this becomes permanent.”

Mr Mann hailed the news, adding: “I am pleased to see the Post Office Ltd have agreed to this.

“It was one of my ‘asks’ when I met with their representative at the conference last week.”
