TWO teenagers from Pyworthy are hoping to conquer the highest mountain in the British Isles to fundraise for the North Devon Hospice.

On May 24 — or nearest to that date, depending on weather — 14-year-old Jemma and 13-year-old Ben McKenzie are taking on Ben Nevis in the Highlands of Scotland to raise funds in particular for the Long House Appeal to provide an outreach centre, currently being built in Holsworthy, to support the town and surrounding areas.

Jemma and Ben are enthusiastic fundraisers, as Ben successfully climbed Snowdon last year for the cause, and Jemma has also participated in two river swims for the hospice.

They have raised more than £1,000 in the past and so have a target of at least £2,000 for this challenge.
