THE Co-op store in Holsworthy recently presented cheques to local charity groups with money raised through their Community Scheme and carrier bag charges.

The Co-op Holsworthy Community Scheme gives 1% of the value of Co-op products purchased by customers who use their Co-op card to local charities. They also donate the 5p collected for carrier bags.

Cheques were presented to 1st Holsworthy Scouts for £1,268, Holsworthy Hospital League of Friends for £1,229 and to Holsworthy Memorial Hall for £1,194.

Representatives from the local charities were present on the day. They were Sylvia Harris from the League of Friends, Cathy Withall and Pauline Masters from 1st Holsworthy Scouts, Russell Dymond, Ann Kivell and Mayor Jon Hutchings for the Memorial Hall.
