Two services took place, with one at the war memorial outside of the town’s main church, St Peter’s and St Paul’s, where the town’s local religious leaders joined Cllr Jon Hutchings, the mayor of Holsworthy and other representatives to remember the fallen, lay wreaths and partake in a two minute silence.
Meanwhile, Anvil Corner was the place for the second service of Remembrance Sunday. It is a place where a memorial to the six RAF servicemen from RAF Lyndhome who died when their plane crashed at the location in 1944.
A wreath bearing the colours of the RAF was laid with a service in the men’s honour held as Holsworthy remembered the tragic event that took their lives.
