THE Year 11 netball team travelled to Park School in Barnstaple on Monday, November 7, to compete in an under 16 netball tournament.

The girls’ first game in their pool was against South Molton and they were off to a great start with a 16-4 win.

Their next game was against one of the school’s main rivals, West Buckland. They scraped a win with the score being 10-9 to Holsworthy at full time. The third game was played against Shebbear, which the Holsworthy girls won 13-0. Next up they played Chulmleigh, which was another success with a win of 14-8.

The last game was against Torrington, which they needed to win in order to be the top team in their pool and get into a good position for the semi finals. With a bit of effort they won 13-8 and went through to the semi finals!

They then played Bideford, who have been a tough team to beat in previous years, but this year the girls were determined to beat them and won 10-6.

They met West-Buckland again in the finals and they came back more determined than ever. The final score was 14-10 to them. The team were slightly disappointed with the result, however, they are all very excited to be going through to the county championships to represent North Devon.

Joint ‘players of the match’ were Georgie Moores and Zoe Pett.
