THE North Devon Beer Festival will this year play host to a great line up of music, alongside some locally brewed beers.

The event will take place in the Barnstaple Pannier Market and one of the local brewers whose ales will be featured at this years festival is Dave Slocombe of Holsworthy Ales brewery.

Dave Slocombe, of Holsworthy Ales brewery, said: “I have been taking part in the North Devon Beer Festival for about the last three years.

“The festival was the brainchild of Tim Webster, who runs Barum Brewery, and he has held this wonderful event each year in the pannier market of Barnstable for, I think, about 10 years.

“My ales will be featured again this year which is great. The festival has gone from strength to strength with wonderful live music each year.

“I have always loved going to the event and it is something that people really do enjoy.”

The festival is now in its tenth year and is an excellent venue for North Devon brewers, food producers and musicians to showcase their talents and produce.

Organiser of the North Devon Beer Festival, Tim Webster, said: “This is the tenth year of the festival and the USP of the event is that it is a showcase of North Devon only.

“This means that all the beers, ciders, food and entertainment is all sourced in North Devon, it really is a great expo for what North Devon has to offer.

“We started off in the leisure centre at Barnstaple, but when the opportunity came up to hold it in the Pannier Market we took it.

“The market is at the centre of the town and is an ideal space for the festival. It is getting busier every year and we are looking forward to seeing all that North Devon has to offer this weekend.”

The event will not only display the best of North Devon food and drink but will play host to a fantastic line up of musical talent.

The music line up for the first day of the festival, Sunday, May 29, will include: 1pm, Molly and John Davies; 2pm, Jenna Witts; 3pm, Georgia Palmer; 4pm, Sam Dowden; 5pm, Chris Millington; 7pm, The Dambuskers; 8.45pm, The Stolen Page.
