CURRY was served to more than 70 people at a charity night in Bridgerule last week. Pam and Gary Bowler, of the Bridge Inn, hosted a fundraising event in aid of the Long House North Devon Hospice Appeal. The Long House will be located next to Holsworthy Medical Centre and the community hospital. The hospice provides specialist care and support to patients and families affected by cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. They work in close association with the local healthcare professionals, sharing knowledge and expertise. The fundraising theme was an authentic Indian meal prepared by Sajla's Taaza Curry, who specialises in freshly home cooked authentic Punjabi food that tastes divine and has the 'wow' factor. More than 70 people contributed in excess of £400 towards the Long House Appeal. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post
