THE streets were lined with hundreds of mourners who were paying their respects to the iconic Cornish comedian Jethro.

Jethro (Geoffrey Rowe) died on December 14 aged 73 after having contracted COVID-19.

His last journey took place on Monday, January 3; the proceedings began at Jethro’s Club in Lewdown at 10am, passing through Lifton at 10.10am and then continuing on to Truro.

Members of the public gathered outside Truro Cathedral to pay their respects and the crowd broke into a spontaneous applause as the custom land cruiser hearse passed by.

To accommodate the crowds of people paying their respects, speakers carried the speeches made inside the cathedral to the attendees in the street.

Following the ceremony Jethro’s family held a private burial to lay him to rest.
