ON Wednesday, December 8, the Coads Green village hall was filled with foliage and trimmings ready for the wreath making presentation by long standing member and flower arranger, Barbara Sleep.
Barbara demonstrated, with her usual flair, how to fill the wreath with greenery and how to trim and finish it, ready for a Christmas door hanging or a table decoration. There were over 30 members and guests present, socially distanced on tables of three, bringing their own materials or using those provided, which included cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices. At the end of the evening, each participant had produced a wreath to be a welcoming symbol or a centre piece to celebrate the festive season.
President Daphne Tucker thanked Barbara for an enjoyable and absorbing time and for all her preparation that had made the event such a success.
There were mince pies to round off the evening, which had been provided by the committee.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 12, at 7.30pm in the Chapel Parlour, at Coads Green when the guest speaker will be from Clean Living Int., a company which specialises in eco-friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable cleaning products. New members are always welcome.
