THE Post is pleased to announce the line-up of the 2016 Gala — the 25th anniversary of this fundraising event.

The event will once again be held at Penstowe on Friday, February 12.

Headlining the event this year will be Edison Lighthouse.

The 1970s chart topping group are best known for their million selling record Love Grows (Where my Rosemary Goes).

Original member Dave Taylor has teamed up with Bob Hickmott to perform old Edison Lighthouse mixed with lots of 60s and 70s party music.

Also on the line-up will be a familiar face to the Gala crowd — comedian Tank Sherman.

Without doubt Tank is one of the finest ‘Westcountry’ comedians in the UK.

It has been said that he started out as a sit down comedian but soon moved to stand up so that he could see the people at the back.

He has worked with numerous household names and has supported Jethro on nationwide tours. He is one of the most respected comedians in the business — and has been a popular part of previous galas.

Opening the show will be the Boscastle Buoys.

The ‘buoys’ — whose line-up includes many familiar faces — have become renowned for singing traditional Cornish and sea shanty songs for charity.

In true Celtic tradition, the group began their melodious journey in the local pub. Singing was their passion and this was soon put to good use!

This year will be the 25th anniversary of the event. Proceeds from previous galas has topped the £130,000 mark, which has all been handed over to chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West.

2016 is also the 25th anniversary of the hospice, so buy your ticket, help the hospice and enjoy a great night’s entertainment!
