Delabole carnival committee are pleased to announce the new Fairy Queen for 2022.
Summer Goodman was crowned Fairy Queen and was presented with a certificate from the carnival committee. She will be officially crowned during the carnival week which will commence on Saturday, July 9.
A full week of live entertainment will be available and take place under the big carnival marquee, followed by the grand Delabole carnival parade to round off the week of celebrations on Saturday, July 17, at 7pm.
Members of the carnival committee have been busy behind the scenes preparing for carnival week, booking entertainment suitable for all ages.
A spokesperson said: “We are looking forward to welcoming back all our carnival friends, old and new, to join us each night for a busy week of entertainment.”
The week will host various events such as a quiz, pasty lunches, bingo and live bands.
The spokesperson added: “We wish our new Fairy Queen Summer and her attendant’s good luck for the coming season and thank you to our retiring fairy queen and king for attending local carnivals and representing the village during their extra-long rein due to COVID.”
