IN the second year since its triumphant return after 12 years in the wilderness, the carnival atmosphere could be best described as ‘cracking’.

Crackington Carnival, an event held in the picturesque North Cornwall village near the sea, saw a wide range of participants descend to join in the festivities with a bright array and variety of entries.

Photographer Adrian Jasper, who attended the event, was mightily impressed with what he saw, saying that ‘words failed him’ and he thought the carnival was among those he considered ‘as good as it gets’.

Another participant, attending for the first time, said it definitely wouldn’t be their last, adding: “It was brilliant day and a wonderful vibe. The floats were great, applause to everyone! The traditional games and stalls were perfect!”
