THE Bude Coastguard Rescue Team attended a call out on Monday, October 17, after paramedics requested an emergency evacuation of a female casualty.

The coastguard team were paged at 6.30pm and tasked to Holsworthy’s football pitch to set up and maintain a helicopter-landing site for Rescue 924 Coastguard helicopter, based in Newquay.

The helicopter was responding to a request from paramedics for an emergency evacuation of a female casualty.

The Bude Coastguard Search and Rescue Team wrote on their Facebook page: “Arriving on scene shortly after the helicopter had landed, Bude CRT assisted paramedics in carrying the stretcher in to the rear of the awaiting helicopter, and then took up positions to maintain a safe area within which the helicopter could depart.”

Once they had safely got the female casualty on board rescue 924, the team was able to leave the football pitch safely.
