ACTOR John Nettles was at Holsworthy Hospital on Saturday, July 20 to cut a tape and officially open the new nurses' station, writes Christine Williams.
Made by local carpenter Trevor Abbott, it cost £17,000 and was paid for by money raised by the Friends of Holsworthy Hospital through donations, legacies and fundraising by members.
Introducing Mr Nettles to members of the public who were enjoying a Devon cream tea in the day room, John Allen, the chairman of the Friends, thanked him for his willingness to support local events and good causes.
