COMMUNITY organisations — including Holsworthy Youth Club — are being given cash for schemes to tackle anti-social behaviour across Devon and Cornwall, writes Ed Oldfield.

The 27 projects will share an £80,000 fund set up by the region’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Conservative Alison Hernandez.

A similar amount has been set aside for next year.

The PCC asked for schemes to tackle anti-social behaviour in public places and offered funding between £250 and £2,500.

More than 50 ideas were put forward and were studied by a panel, which chose the ones to get the funds.

Funds were due to be released in September and staff from the PCC’s office will work with the schemes as they go live.

In the Post area, the Holsworthy Youth Club has been successful in its bid.
