NEGOTIATIONS that could see the relocation of Camelford Town Council to a new building on Dark Lane could move a step closer.
Public minutes released by the council confirm that it has resolved to open lease negotiations with the Westcountry Schools Trust concerning the former adult education centre in the town.
Councillors discussed the issues facing the current town hall, with Cllr Rotchell raising concerns over fire regulations, lack of access to toilet facilities and the condition of the lift.
Other concerns included a perceived lack of space for meetings, while councillors debated various options for the future.
In a proposal to move forward into lease negotiations, councillors voted to do so with seven members voting in favour, three against and one abstention.
