AN APPLICATION for the conversion of redundant stables to form a dwelling in Callington has been withdrawn after receiving objections.
Eight objections were made to the application by Ms Nicola Bull, which she argued would enable her to reside on site with her horses where currently she has to make multiple journeys to them.
In her plea to the local authority, she described the benefits she would experience from converting the redundant stables on the land where her horses are kept into a dwelling, including the proximity to elderly parents.
Several objections were made to the proposal, mostly citing drainage issues and water run off. However, one comment in support from a Mr Philip Bolitho said these were ‘misleading’.
He wrote: “I have been a neighbour to this applicant for many years and she uses the entrance constantly to look after her horse, she keeps an eye on my stock on the adjacent land which is very helpful when she’s not there.
“The issues of the flooding down the bridle path is caused by run off from land to the east in a completely different direction and not related to this site whatsoever”.
He added that the proposal was no different to one proposed at a neighbouring site in 2018.
However, the proposal was later withdrawn.
