A FAMILIAR face is set to extend its reach with the opening of a new shop in Bude.

Bude Sea Pool has announced that it will be opening a new shop in the heart of Bude.

For the past nine years, the charity has successfully operated a shop in the Summerleaze car park but has long hoped to move closer to the town centre to benefit from greater footfall. Now, with the opening of the new town shop, that goal has become a reality. Operated by a dedicated team of volunteers, the shop has been a key source of income, helping to fund the upkeep and continued improvement of Bude Sea Pool and ensuring it remains free and open to all.

The space’s grand opening is set for Saturday, June 28, at 1 Morwenna Terrace, at the top of Belle Vue. The shop will be open from 10am to 4pm, and everyone is warmly invited to come along, explore the space, and show their support.

The new town location offers more visibility, easier access, and the chance to welcome even more visitors and locals. The shop will stock the same popular range of Bude Sea Pool merchandise, gifts, and souvenirs — with all profits going directly to Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP). Visitors can also explore displays and information about the rich history of Bude Sea Pool and the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep it running.

FoBSP Chair, Sarah Moore, said: "This new town shop is a fantastic opportunity to reach more people, grow awareness of the pool, and raise much-needed funds. We’re so grateful to our volunteers, past and present, whose hard work makes this all possible."

As the shop opens its doors, FoBSP is also putting out a call for more volunteers. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just the occasional shift, joining the shop team is a fun and rewarding way to support a much-loved community space.
