EIGHT young people from Holsworthy who decided to choose the Army Cadet Force (ACF) as a hobby have successfully passed their basic assessment and been awarded badges and certificates.
The 12-year-olds attended an open evening in April held by Holsworthy ACF and decided that they liked what was on offer and enrolled.
The group received basic training in drill, fieldcraft, physical training first-aid and military history and knowledge and received their final assessment on September 3.
Detachment Commander Lt Jim Harvey said of the group: “The group has worked hard and bonded very well as a team. They all show great enthusiasm and resilience for all the challenges that they have been presented with.”
Holsworthy ACF is now looking for new recruits and can offer a four-week trial to young people from the age of 12.
