AFTER wearing her hair long all her adult life Annette Evans, from Holsworthy, decided to get the chop and donate the hair to the Little Princess Trust with sponsorship money being given to the BBC’s Children in Need.

She booked an appointment for 1pm on Thursday, November 17, at ‘The Place for Hair’ in Holsworthy, where hairdresser Alana Robertson cut about 10.5 inches off of the length of her hair.

Annette said: “All my adult life, I have worn my hair long, with just one major haircut during that time! Please sponsor me, to raise money for Children in Need, to have my first major haircut of this century and my second in the last 40 years!”

The hair was trimmed first to remove any split ends before the bulk of the hair was cut in one go so that it can be prepared and donated to the charity Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs to boys and girls in the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Annette added: “I would also like to thank everyone at Arliemoor Care Home, where I have worked for many years; for everyone there who has sponsored me and especially Jackie and David Rowe (the owners) who are allowing me time to undertake this venture!”

So far Annette has raised almost £300 but there is still time to donate and increase how much she is able to give to BBC Children in Need.
