THE MP for Torridge and West Devon is to hold a series of ‘meet your MP’ events during August, including one in Lifton and one in Woolsery.

Geoffrey Cox has announced a series of public events to enable his constituents to come and discuss with him the issues affecting their communities.

The MP will hold five village consultations and two larger public forums, spread across Torridge and West Devon, at which constituents are invited to ask questions and share details of any issues concerning them.

The events are as follows: Lifton Community Centre, August 5, 11am; Yelverton Memorial Hall, August 8, 2pm; Tavistock Town Hall, August 8, 6.30pm; Bere Alston Village Hall, August 9, 11am; Woolsery Sports and Community Centre, August 12, 11am; Winkleigh Village Hall, August 12, 3pm; Kingsley Hall, Westward Ho!, August 15, 6.30pm.

The events will also give constituents the opportunity to complete the survey which is being issued by Mr Cox this summer to obtain their views on a range of key issues such as public transport and broadband speeds.

The survey can also be completed online at www.geoffreycox.co.uk/survey

Mr Cox said: “I am always pleased to receive the views of my constituents on the issues affecting them, whether that is a personal problem, or a wider matter facing the community as a whole. Hearing the views and opinions of my constituents in this way enables me to plan campaigns and take up issues with key decision makers at both a local and national level.

“If you are not able to attend one of the events, please do complete the survey online or contact the constituency office and ask for a copy to be posted to you. It is vital that as many people respond as possible in order to inform my work in Westminster.”

Questions for the two evening events can be submitted in advance by emailing [email protected] or by post to: 1st Floor Lockyer House, Paddons Row, Tavistock, PL19 0HF.

Preference will be given to those received ahead of the events.
