FIRE crews in Launceston were called into action this week after two vehicles were engulfed by a blaze.

At around 2.18pm on Wednesday, March 18, one appliance from Launceston Community Fire Station was called into action following reports of a residential property fire in the village of Cardinham.

On arrival crews were faced with two vehicles well alight, one of which was parked in a car port under the property.

In an effort to tackle the blaze, crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

To ensure the fire was controlled, the Launceston crew were joined on scene by St Austell Community Fire Station, Newquay Community Fire Station and Truro Community Fire Station.
