BUDE RFC recently held their end of season awards night at The Bay View Inn with scrum-half Ollie Rowland the big winner.
The Seasiders’ first team were in Counties Two Cornwall following relegation the year before, and were under a new head coach in Sam Parker who has recently left the club.
After a mixed start, results improved, resulting in Bude finishing third in the table behind Helston and runaway winners Camborne Seconds, while they also reached Cornwall Clubs Cup final where they lost to Helston.

Bude enjoyed 15 wins and five defeats overall, while several youngsters from the previous year’s Colts stepped up and became key members of the starting line-up or squad.
The seconds finished fifth in Counties Three Cornwall with seven wins and seven losses, 34 points behind their Penzance and Newlyn counterparts who won the title.



The Ladies ended up ninth in Women’s NC 2 South West (West), winning three and drawing two of their 18 games, while the Colts battled away despite losing all 11 league outings in the Cornwall Colts League.
The winners of the awards were as follows: Men’s First Team: Player of the Season and Players’ Player – Ollie Rowland; Biggest Hit Award and Captain’s Player – Matt Maniglia; Man of Steel – Ed Hilliam-Cooke; Most Improved – Charlie Firman; Most Tries – Joe Wilson.
Second Team: Players’ Player – Bertie Seggons; Most Improved – Freddy Allan; Captain’s Cup – Brian Andrew; Player of the Year – Peter George; Big Hits – Cobi Yelland.
Ladies: Most Improved – Caitlin Williams; Coaches player – Ellie Gregory; Players’ Player – Charly Mould; Biggest Hit – Ellie Gregory and Erin Hunter; Carrie Short Club Woman – Lisa Allin; Captain's Shield – Vinnie James.
Colts: Players’ Player – Alfie Turner; Best Forward – Aaron Squirrell; Best Back – Adam Lovejoy; Player of the Year and Top Try Scorer – Toby Mallard; Big Hit – George Eaton; Endeavour – Jack Ludwell; Captain’s Trophy – Jayln Hopgood.
