LAUNCESTON Ladies will look to return to winning ways when they welcome Oxford Harlequins to Polson Bridge on Sunday afternoon in Women’s Championship South West 2 (3pm).
The Cabettes have enjoyed a steady start to their inaugural season at the level, winning two of their five outings to sit fifth in the nine-team division.
They will start as firm favourites against a Harlequins side who have lost all six outings and conceded over 50 points a game on average, and could do with the points ahead of next weekend’s trip to unbeaten leaders Ivybridge who sit joint top with Newbury Blues.
Launceston won’t have played for over four weeks before taking to the field, but they have continued to work hard and make just one change from the side beaten at Newbury as lock Rhian Thomas coming in for the unavailable Katie Gilmour as Jess Harrison switches to flanker.
LAUNCESTON LADIES: Jess Bartlett, Madi Vine, Meg Tucker, Abbie Smith, Grace Tucker, Rachel Hicks, Amy Warman; Libbie Cole, Jess Arnold, Kim Upcott (capt); Megan Arnold, Rhian Thomas; Jess Harrison, Caitlin Hancock, Alex Hutchings. Replacements: Poppy Speare, Ann-Marie Risdon, Jess Ninnis, Briony Eddy, J Cowling, Poppy Karkeek, Suz Franks.
