BUDE and Bideford will get their RFU Community Cup Counties Two Championship third-round tie played tomorrow (2.30pm) at the third time of asking regardless of the weather.

The two old rivals – who were both relegated from Counties One Western West last season – both sit third in their respective divisions with the Seasiders in Counties Two Cornwall and the Chiefs in the Devon equivalent.

Last year both teams won away from home, while their meeting in the first-leg of the inaugural Harpers Feeds Cup in the autumn saw Bude take victory into the second stanza in North Devon later in the season.

The last two weekends have seen Bude’s Bencoolen Meadow pitch waterlogged and with fixtures now piling up, the RFU have ordered that the game is to be played this weekend.

If Bude’s ground does fail a morning pitch inspection – although the improving weather means the club are confident it will be on – the two sides will head to Callywith College in Bodmin to get the tie played. If that is the case, kick-off would be at 3.30pm.

Bude have to do without influential No.8 Fred Saxton which means usual centre Ed Hilliam-Cooke fills in at the back of the scrum.

But bar that, head coach Sam Parker has a near full-strength squad to choose from as young prop Hayden Chater gets a start at loosehead and Ben Tharme is available having not been last week.

BUDE v Bideford: Will Pharo; Cobi Yelland, Ben Tharme, Olly Denford, Oscar Davey; Brad Thomas, Ollie Rowland; Hayden Chater, Harvey Cholwill, Anthony Kennett; Alex Robinson, Will Hockridge (capt); Finley Fry, Matt Maniglia, Ed Hilliam-Cooke. Replacements: Charlie Firman, Josh Rowland, Olly Mounce.
