TRURO City have announced the signing of striker Omar Bogle, on a permanent deal until the end of the 2026/27 Enterprise National League South campaign.

The 33-year-old joins City as a free agent, after spending the past two seasons with SkyBet League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra.

A powerful striker, Bogle cut his formative footballing teeth in the youth ranks at Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and north of the border with Scottish giants Celtic.

Bogle's career really took off back in his native Midlands at firstly Hinckley, then Solihull Moors. Whilst at Damson Park, Bogle scored goals at a ratio of just over one every two games and was also named National League North player of the season.

In 2015, he left Solihull to join Grimsby and helped fire the Mariners back into the English Football League.

The Championship was Bogle’s next destination, with spells at both Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City, playing on loan for Birmingham City, Portsmouth and Peterborough whilst with the Welsh outfit.

In recent years, Bogle has played for Charlton, Doncaster, Hartlepool and Newport County – topping the Exiles’ scoring charts in 22/23, bagging 19 goals.

After leaving Rodney Parade, Bogle joined Crewe in the summer of 2024 and now becomes the Tinners’ seventh new addition this summer.

He told the club website, “Having spoken to the Gaffer, about the plans the club has got, it was important for me at the stage of my life and career, to join a project.

“This club has been building for the last few years and the Gaffer really sold it to me.

I have had great years in non-League with Solihull and Grimsby and then the last 10 years in the EFL, so I have a lot of experience with me.

“Hopefully I can use that, to help the boys achieve what they want to achieve which is promotion.

“From me personally, I hope the fans will see goals, excitement and I like to express myself when I am on the pitch. I will work hard for the team, but ultimately my job here is to score goals and create goals.”
