WILL Deans has committed his future to Truro City after signing a new multi-year contract with the Tinners.

The 26-year-old midfielder has become one of the key figures in Truro’s rise through the divisions since returning to the club on a permanent basis in 2021.

Deans first joined City on loan from Exeter City during the 2019-20 season, with his spell cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic.

After returning to Exeter the following season, he also spent time on loan at Bath City before making his move to Truro permanent in the summer of 2021.

Since then, Deans has been at the heart of a remarkable period of progress for the Cornish club.

He has played a major role in successive promotions from the Southern League and National League South, establishing himself as a mainstay in the Tinners' midfield along the way.

And he has continued that form at the start of the 2026-27 campaign, scoring three goals in league and cup competition as Truro have made an impressive start to the season.

For Deans, extending his stay was an easy decision.

“I’m really enjoying my football here,” he said. “When signing a new contract was put to me, signing it was a bit of a no-brainer because I love it here.

“This place feels like home to me and you can see from the outside in, when people come to watch, that the club is moving in the right direction. Things like the ground, to being full-time, and we are trying to do everything properly and that is very exciting.”

Deans' new deal represents another statement of intent from a Truro side continuing to build on its rapid rise through the English football pyramid.

Having been central to the club's recent success on the pitch, the midfielder will now have the opportunity to play a part in what promises to be another significant chapter in the Tinners' story.

His decision to stay also provides Truro with valuable continuity as they look to establish themselves at their new level and continue the momentum built over the past five years.

For a player who first arrived at the club as a teenager on loan, Deans has now become an established part of the Truro furniture – and is clearly enjoying the prospect of seeing just how far the Tinners can go.
