BUDE Town Football Club held their annual presentation night at Rosies Kitchen recently.
The Seasiders enjoyed a good season with the first team finishing a much-improved eighth in South West Peninsula League Premier West under Steve Hackett and assistant boss Liam Dart, while the reserves under Hayden White and Jake Salt are mid-table in St Piran League Division Two East.
The club have gone more local again in the last couple of seasons with attendances soaring and lots of local businesses getting on board at Broadclose Park, while there are a healthy number of ladies team, a thriving Vets team and the reinstatement of a ladies side.

The winners were as follows: First Team: Goal of the Season – Dylan Morgan versus Holsworthy on Boxing Day; Players’ Player – Jake Woodland; Manager’s Player – James Wheeler and Harrison Swatton; Supporters’ Player – Finn Reeve and Harry Hopcroft; Young Player – Piran Friend; Reserves: Players’ Player – Aled Thomas; Managers’ Player – Aled Thomas; Supporters of the Year – Andy Perkins, Alisha Holmes and Sarah Burrows; Clubperson of the Year – Nick Swan.

Reflecting on the evening and the season, first team boss Steve Hackett said: “It was a really good night with over 100 in attendance and the players who won the awards deserved to.
“It was a really positive season overall for the club and there were several players who were probably unlucky not to win anything, which in itself goes to show how strong a squad we’ve got.
“For us, the main priority is to keep the players we want to as we’ve built nicely over the last couple of seasons. We may make one or two acquisitions, but I doubt there’ll be many more than that as sometimes bringing in too many new faces can be counter-productive to what you’ve already got.”
