SAM DAVEY’S second-half penalty helped Launceston come back from two goals down to earn a thrilling 2-2 draw with Plymouth Argyle Reserves at a sodden and muddy Pennygillam last Saturday.
Earlier on in the season, Gary Jeffery’s men were turned over 6-0 in the return fixture, but despite going 2-0 down the Clarets responded to earn a vital point and make it seven games unbeaten.
Argyle started the brighter and took the lead on 15 minutes as Connor McAuley slotted home from a corner.
Things got even better for the Pilgrims youngsters as Luke Jephcott seized on a poor backpass to fire in past Jordan Tewkesbury.
To the home side’s credit, they continued to plug away in the mud and halved the deficit when Davey’s shot was parried into the path of Scott Blatchford who made no mistake from close range.
Davey, who only last month returned from Pymouth Parkway, was proving a constant menace in the visitors backline and it was he who gave Launceston their equaliser.
After being fouled in the box, he confidently stepped up to earn his side a share of the spoils and further dent?Argyle’s slim hopes of winning the title.
Launceston move into the top half of the table ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Cullompton and Saturday’s clash at Exmouth.

THE?rain was the winner at Trefrew Park as Camelford’s first scheduled game for 15 days never got started.
Exmouth will now make the trip to North Cornwall on Tuesday, April 25 with a 7.45pm kick off.
The Camels will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Witheridge this coming Saturday.

BATTLING Bude put in a tremendous rearguard effort until the champions-elect showed their class in the second-half.
The struggling Seasiders have started to show some form in recent weeks and took a shock lead through youngster Harry Hopcroft — his second in as many games.
However, the home side showed why they’re unbeaten in the league this season when they equalised through Sam Kenny and then took the lead with a 30-yard thunderbolt from player/manager Andrew Avery.
Bude were now forced to defend for their lives and the game was effectively over when the prolific Jack Bowyer and Callum Kenny made it 4-1.
Dan Starkey was then sent-off for the visitors who dropped a place to third bottom, eight points above the drop zone.
Nick Jeffery’s men have a break from league action this weekend before welcoming Wadebridge Town to Broadclose Park next Saturday.

HOLSWORTHY?were unable to build on their heroic performance against league leaders Sticker as their clash with mid-table Illogan RBL was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The fixture has been rearranged for Saturday, April 29 with a 3pm kick-off.
Liam Dart’s men are back in action this weekend with a winnable home game against bottom club Vospers Oak Villa as they look to grab the couple of victories required to confirm Step Seven football once more in 2017/18.

ALL East Cornwall Premier Division and Division One clashes involving team’s in the Post area were called off last Saturday with Polperro’s 4-0 victory over Tavistock being the only match to survive.
