HOLDERS Kilkhampton are through to the second round of the Cornwall Intermediate Cup after scoring eight away from home at Goonhavern on Saturday.

Pick of the scorers was Ryan Thomas with four, while Matt Jones (2), Jay Needham and Matt Hopper were also on target for the Lambs in their 8-1 success.

Sides from both the Premier and Division One of the respective east and west leagues in the St Piran League structure are available to enter, and unsurprisingly there were some thrilling contests.

Altarnun made the long trip west to Troon who edged a five-goal classic the winning goal coming in the 81st minute. The Nuns twice levelled in the second half via an own goal and Josh Smith, but had to play the last half-hour with ten men following a red card for Josh Kingdon. Ben Harrison got the only goal against his old side as North Petherwin won the local derby at Launceston Reserves.

Division One East St Teath headed to Premier East Torpoint Athletic Reserves, and although Rowen Turner levelled early in the second half, three goals in the final 20 minutes saw the hosts progress.

Morwenstow of the North Devon League Premier Division are also through after seeing off visiting Perranwell 3-0 at Shop Playing Field.

The Greens were two goals to the good at the break via Corrick Davies and new signing Mason Tape as Corey Gilbert added a third after the restart.

No Premier Division East games went ahead, but two did in Division One East including Boscastle’s remarkable 5-4 success over visiting Torpoint Athletic Thirds.

They trailed 3-2 at the break despite efforts from Josh Insley and Sam Haddy, but roared back with Jake Dickinson, Drew Burnard and Haddy all on target.

Elsewhere, Lifton had a day to forget at St Stephen in a 10-1 defeat.
