AS A thank you gesture for being chosen as one of the supermarket's 'good causes' in February, the Ashwater Primary School Steel Band played for customers outside of Waitrose on Saturday (February 16).

Music teacher Christine March has been teaching the children for nine months and said that they were "sounding really good".

The school has been renting the drums and is fundraising to buy its own set so that the children can continue playing. Waitrose chose the school as one of its good causes in February to support the band.
