Point-to-Point horse racing gets underway again in the New Year when its the turn of the North Cornwall to host their meeting at The Royal Cornwall show ground, Wadebridge, on Sunday 9th January 2022. There will be six races on offer with an early start time of 11.30am. Jockey Will Biddick is currently leading the Men’s area title, and this locally born gentleman will be hoping for some good rides on the day.

Will Biddick has also turned his hand to successfully training young horses along with producing some talented young jockey’s out of his yard both of which he has given them lots of hours teaching which he is passionate about. The Wadebridge track offer fabulous facilities for all the family day out. This includes a huge covered barn to enjoy the atmosphere inside as well as getting some fresh air track-side for the splendid sport on offer. The following weekend we will be heading to The Buckfastleigh Track in South Devon, when it will be The Modbury Harriers turn to host their meeting. Six races will also be on offer with a start time of 12 noon.

The Buckfastleigh track is steeped in History, and also offers fabulous track-side viewing with a backdrop of Dartmoor. This meeting is the second of the Exeter Racecourse Intermediate series, which will be hotly contested, being a qualifier for the Hunter Chase series final at Exeter in April. Sunday 23rd January will be when the Tiverton host their event at Chipley Park, near Wellington. The feature race of the day is the INEOS Grenadair mixed open race, which is sure to pull in top entries from around the country.

This track is also fabulous for viewing with access to the course track-side, along with a good country shopping area. All these events offer hot and cold food, bar, bookies and trade stands.
