Goods vehicle licence application
A BUSINESS based near Bude is seeking permission to site an additional four trailers at its present heavy goods vehicle (HGV) operating centre.
The application was made by Kevin Heywood and Anna Heywood, who trade under the business name of A.J. Heywood and Sons.
The business is based at Springfield Meadows, Sharland Roads, Marhamchurch, Bude, EX23 0HW.
An HGV operating centre is the officially registered base or yard where heavy goods vehicles and trailers are normally kept, parked, and maintained when not in use.
It is a critical requirement for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence, and must be authorised by a Traffic Commissioner to ensure it is suitable, secure, and environmentally acceptable.
It is to the Traffic Commissioner that the application has been made and any owner or occupier of land, which includes buildings that are near to the operating centre who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected are invited to make written representations within 21 days of March 11, 2026.
